Custom Rubber Wire Grommets Solution
When a wire or cable passes through a metal panel, the raw cut edge will saw through the insulation over time — vibration works the cable against the edge until the jacket wears through and the wire shorts or grounds out. A rubber wire grommet lines that edge, absorbs the vibration, and keeps moisture and debris out of the enclosure.

Choosing the Right Grommet Design
Closed vs. split. A closed-loop grommet gives the tightest seal but requires threading the cable through before termination — best for new builds. A split or slit design opens along one side so it can be installed around a cable that’s already terminated or wired in place — the tradeoff is a slightly weaker seal at the seam, which we can offset with an interlocking or overlapping cut.
Single cable vs. bundle. A single-bore grommet seals one cable tightly. For wire harnesses or multiple cables through one panel opening, we mold multi-bore or bundle grommets sized to your cable count and diameters, so each cable gets individual support instead of being packed loosely into one oversized hole.
Flanged vs. flush. A flanged grommet locks into the panel groove and sits proud on both sides — good where the panel is thin or the fit needs to hold under repeated flexing. A flush grommet sits level with the panel face, used where clearance on one side is tight.
Sealing Level. Tell us the environment and we’ll size the material and groove interference accordingly — dust-only protection needs less compression than a splash-rated or fully submerged application. Getting this wrong either strains the cable jacket (too tight) or lets moisture track in along the seam (too loose).

Material selection depends on the operating environment, temperature, chemical exposure, and sealing requirements. If you’re unsure, simply describe your application and we’ll recommend the most suitable compound.
- EPDM — weather and ozone resistance for outdoor or automotive runs
- NBR — oil and fuel resistance for engine bay or industrial wiring
- Silicone — wide temperature range, stays flexible in cold environments
- CR (Neoprene) — general-purpose, good abrasion and weather resistance
- FKM — chemical and high-heat resistance for harsh environments

FAQ About Wire Grommets
1. Can you produce split wire grommets for pre-installed cables?
Yes. We manufacture split grommets that can be installed around existing cables without removing terminals. Production is based on your drawing, dimensions, or sample.
2. How many cables can go through one grommet?
As many as your panel opening allows — send your cable diameters and count, and we’ll design single- or multi-bore to fit.
3. What determines whether I need a flanged or flush grommet?
Panel thickness and available clearance on both sides. Send your panel drawing and we’ll recommend the right profile.
